Road ahead

This is my reclusive view, or at least the view that I will hold in my mind long after the wind batters our effortless garden into a hopscotch pattern. I see the image of July perfection before me even while tripping over drying stalks, each one shaking with hundreds of peppery worlds of blue. It doesn't matter that the literature I've seen claims that the delphinium is a toxic plant--these blooms are frequented by bees and hummingbirds who return day after day. Besides, according to the lovely Wikipedia, delphiniums are also believed to ward off lightning, and are used for various herbal concoctions...including ink.
